In March 2020, the Ministry of Industry and Energy of the Republic of Bashkortstan conducted a competitive selection of investment projects for the right to build a solar station on the territory of the single-industry town of Agidel. The key goal of choosing the location of the facility was to attract investment in a single-industry city, create new jobs, and use unused industrial sites of nuclear power plants for the placement of photovoltaic modules. After all, after the events of April 1986 at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, in 1990, under public pressure, the construction of the Bashkir nuclear power plant was stopped. As of today, Agidel is a single-industry town with a developed household and social infrastructure.
According to the results of the competitive selection in March 2020, LLC "Kurai Solar" was recognized as the winner with the investment project "Agidel SES" (Agidel SES No. 1 – 4.99 MW and Agidel SES No. 2-4.99 MW, a total of 9.98 MW) and entrusted with the development of the project.
As part of the investment project, it is planned to implement social programs, introduce and popularize modern technologies in the field of energy: for example, it is planned to introduce and develop training programs for the installation and operation of photovoltaic systems on the basis of the Agidel branch of the Ufa Fuel and Energy College. These social programs are supported by the ENABLING PV project partners, eclareon GmbH and ideas into energy GG GmbH.
In the future, the NP for the development of renewable energy "EUROSOLAR Russia", SOLAR23 and Solar Systems LLC plan to further develop solar energy projects in Bashkortostan. Today, work continues on the selection of promising sites, negotiations are underway with the Administrations of municipalities and regional authorities.
