Within the framework of the International Forum "Renewable Energy for Regional Development", a panel discussion "Hydrogen technologies - the near future or a distant prospect. Regional development projects." was held.
According to analysts, by 2050, hydrogen technologies can meet about a quarter of all EU fuel needs: they will provide energy sufficient to refuel 42 million cars, more than one and a half million trucks and a quarter of a million buses. Nowadays, hydrogen is increasingly seen as the key to the success of the energy transition. Experts from the International Energy Agency IEA have estimated that adding just 20% hydrogen to the European gas network will reduce CO2 emissions by 60 million tons per year. Russia has approved a Concept for the development of hydrogen energy, which provides for providing about 20% of the world's hydrogen exports by 2050 through supplies from Russia.
