The events were organized by the German House of Science and Innovation (DWIH Moscow) together with the Fraunhofer ISE Institute, the Non-profit Organization for the Development of Solar Energy "Eurosolar", the Institute of Solar Energy. Krzyzanowski and the Academic University in St. Petersburg with the support of the German Embassy in Moscow and the Consulate General in St. Petersburg.
German experts from the Fraunhofer ISE Institute of Solar Energy Systems and the German Solar Energy Association (GSW) were invited to the event. At a business breakfast with representatives of the business community and at a conference at the Institute of Solar Systems. On April 19, the head of the Department of Photovoltaics Systems, Dr. Harry Wirth, presented the solar energy technologies of the Fraunhofer Institute of Solar Systems (Fraunhofer ISE) and showed the methods of their implementation. Ulf Lohse from the Solar Energy Association (BSW) presented a study of the conditions and frameworks for the application of solar technologies in different countries "Enabling PV".
Within the framework of the events, the issues of conditions for the introduction of solar technologies in both countries and the possibility of financing joint projects in the field of photovoltaics were discussed. Social issues related to the introduction of alternative energy sources were not ignored. In addition, the issues of solar cell recycling and energy conservation were discussed. The Fraunhofer Institute ISE and the ENIN Institute have signed a cooperation agreement. Representatives of Russian industrial enterprises and research institutes presented scientific projects in the field of solar energy systems and spoke about current industrial projects in this area.
The third and final event was a conference at the St. Petersburg Academic University-the Scientific and Educational Center for Nanotechnology of the Russian Academy of Sciences, which discussed the implementation of solar energy technologies in Russia and Germany, as well as Russian and German programs for financing joint projects.
The conference program was devoted to the topic "Development of joint projects in the field of solar energy between Russian and German research centers". And the meeting opened with a video message from Academician Zhores Alferov to all participants.
Dr. Harry Wirth, Director of the Division of Solar Power Plants and Modules at the Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems (Freiburg), made the main presentation at the readings. This center, founded in 1981, is currently developing in all areas of solar energy, including materials science, component base, operation and network connectivity. The report of the German scientist was devoted to the most important and effective developments and applied solutions, which, among other things, are of great interest to Russia. At the conference, opportunities for cooperation between Academic Institutions of Russia and Germany were presented with the support of the German House of Science and Innovation (DWIH) in Moscow, On behalf of the Academic University, Alexey Zhukov, Vice-Rector for Science, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, and Ivan Mukhin, Head of the Laboratory of Renewable Energy Sources, spoke, in particular, about the ongoing research in the field of solar energy in this laboratory. Many young scientists are working in this area.
As noted at the meeting, the importance of joint work in the field of solar energy is dictated by the formation of an industrial market for ground-based solar power plants in the Russian Federation. It is obvious that the further development of renewable energy projects in Russia will follow a scenario similar to the rapid development that this industry is experiencing around the world. This idea, in particular, was voiced in the speeches of the head of the Laboratory of Photovoltaic Converters of the Ioffe Institute of Physics and Technology, corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Sciences Vyacheslav Andreev and Deputy General Director of the STC TPT for Scientific work of the Hevel Group of Companies Evgeny Terukov, who believes that silicon technologies will remain the most effective of the existing commercial methods of obtaining solar energy for a long time. The seminar was summed up by the moderator-Chairman of the Management Board of the NP for the Development of Renewable Energy "EUROSOLAR Russia" George Kekelidze:
Our main task, as we see it in the framework of the Non-profit Partnership "EUROSOLAR Russia" under the leadership of Zhores Ivanovich , is to work as an interface between science and production, that is, to find those enterprises in Russia that are interested in certain technological solutions - on the one hand, and the second is to find technologies that are most acceptable to them in the West, and to find centers that are ready to accept these technologies and further develop research centers in Russia. It is the unification of such international scientific cooperation for practical applications that is our main goal.
